CFFRC has hosted a three-day African-Southeast Asian Workshop on Bambara Groundnut on 25-27 November 2019. Deepest appreciation and acknowledgement to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), International Treaty for Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture-Benefit Sharing Fund (ITPGRFA-BSF) and the European Union (EU) for funding the African-Southeast Asian Workshop on Bambara Groundnut.

The first day witnessed an active sharing session on informative updates on the progress and development of the project from genomic studies right to the potential socio-economic impacts. This includes the characterisation and evaluation of growth and yield performance, plant and seed production and its potential as a source of nutrient to tackle nutritional security. On the second day of the workshop, the participants were deeply engaged in a series of interactive roundtable discourse to develop feasible strategies and actions to unravel the potential of bambara groundnut for climate-resilient agriculture. The workshop was definitely a gathering of great minds and vision towards transforming agriculture - for good.
